The oval paper weight from the * Grand Tour period in Italy is carved from Black marble with various hardstone specimens. Of the Twenty marbles represented many are of historical geological importance. Noting Three of the group: Egyptian Red Imperial * Porphyry {far left middle}, found only in Egypt. Greek Dark Green Porphyry {far right middle}, found only in Greece. English * Blue John {far right bottom}, found only in Derbyshire England.
